  1. Include embargo date & time (with timezone)
  2. Total length should be no longer than 500 words, ideally 300-400
  3. Powerful title

  5. First paragraph is most important

    Answer who, what, where, when, why, and how. Include data points if you can to really catch the reader.
  7. 2nd paragraph should address 'Why Now' (make it up)

    Go into more specifics of your company and the announcement. Explain what this announcement means for the reader and journalist. Include a datapoint.

    Quick history and positive company stats – β€œABC company was founded in 2019 and has grown from our two-person operation into a staff of thirty.”

    Readable, informative concepts that journalists and layman reader will understand

    Can include fundraising amount (get creative)
  9. 3rd Paragraph should include a quote from the pioneer, president, or developmental lead on the programme. Quote should be upbeat and forward looking.
  10. 4th Paragraph should include 1–2 lines about how this announcement is relevant to the bigger, market and talk about or hint at future plans of the company. Include a datapoint if possible.
  11. End with ### and include these two important sections after:
  • An "About Section" or Boilerplate for copying and pasting how you describe your company
  • Boilerplate formula: Aspiration + Benefits + Products / Services + Size (if you’re big)
  • Example: Slack is where work happens. Slack is a new layer of the business technology stack that brings together people, applications and data – a hub for collaboration where people can effectively work together, access critical applications and services, and find important information to do their best work. People around the world use Slack to connect their teams, unify their systems and drive their business forward.
  • Media: Include screenshots, logos, and team photos
